Sometimes distance makes the heart grow fonder and reminds you of what you are really missing. Nora was gone for nearly the whole month of July and I was only with her for one week. I'm admittedly a noutorious slob when it comes to cleaning. Well to make a long story short when Nora got home the apartment was clean with no problems. Perhaps I'm loosing a bit of my slovenly ways LOL probably not, but I do admit that that I periotically am still messy. My main goal was to make Nora happy when she got home. Mission accomplished.

First Solo Saturday Ritual

Well our grove does Saturday rituals but this one had a bit of a change up. I was the celebrant, or orator if you perfer, for this ritual. I did it in the Norse panthion and i guess my ability to wtite invocations suprised alot of people there. That was the First time that our grove had ever had a Norse Panthyon ritual..I saw all of my mistakes but not too bad for my first time....I will be deffinatly doing one of the parts for the Lughnasadh.

Gifts of the Gods

Sometimes the gods give and sometimes they take away. Today the gods returned to me something that I took for granted. Let me start this tale from the beginning. In mid-December Nora and I had a apartment fire in our temple room. Many things were eaither dammaged or destroyed and one of my favorite presents given to me I thought was destroyed and would never be heard again. I have a digerydo that was a wedding gift from a dear friend of Nora's and mine from Illinois. My digerydo has a traditional aboriginal paint job of black and white with a tribal design and a snake design.

When the dige came back from the restoration after the fire I decided to play it. It had a very severe taste of smoke. I tried it every day for about 4 days and the tatse got no better. This weekend I was talking to friends of mine about how much it bugged me that my digerydo was not usable. Much to my suprise I picked up my digerydo today and tried to play it and it had no taste of smoke. It't tone is as solid as it has always been. The gods blessed me by returning the instrument and tool to me.. I am very thankful.

When I look to the sun as it drops below the mountain horizon, the sky takes on many colors, reds pinks yellows and purples. As I look into the skies I see the works of the gods in a different light. A mountain that once looked white now looks red or black depending on the time. This reminds me of life ever changing, how one day we can look at something and see the normalcy of everyday, but another time we look at something and see magic and endless possibilities. Taking life a day at a time is importaint, to look at all things in different ways and always analise and look at all things through several angles.

Sitting Back relaxing

I've found that nothing puts me into a nice meditative state like a good pipe. Smoking a full bowl of tobacco takes me to the nice relaxed state, letting the cares of the day float away on a cloud of fragrant smoke. This epiphany came to me as I sat in my back yard, relaxing after a good meal watching the birds and small nature spirits that roam out behind out apartment. Smoking a pipe forces me to take slow easy breaths, breathing in and blowing out with a deep draw. I've thought this for a long time and its the fist time I've sat down and typed it.
